A DPDP programme you can't measure is one you can't manage — or demonstrate. A small set of privacy KPIs turns 'we're working on it' into evidence of progress for leadership and, if needed, the Board.
KPIs worth tracking
- Consent — opt-in rates, withdrawals, records with a valid receipt.
- Rights — requests received, % resolved within time.
- Grievances — volume, resolution time.
- Breaches/incidents — count, time-to-detect, time-to-notify.
- Training — completion rates, phishing-test results.
- Vendors — % with signed DPAs and completed due diligence.
- Data map — coverage and last-review date.
Use them to drive action
KPIs should surface where to focus — a rising rights backlog or vendors without DPAs is a signal, not just a number.
