What the DPDP Act requires

Under Section 5, every request for consent must be preceded by a clear notice — what data you collect, for what purpose, how a person can exercise their rights and complain — available in English and the languages of the Eighth Schedule. Under Section 6, consent must be free, specific, informed, unconditional and unambiguous, given by a clear affirmative action, limited to the stated purpose, and as easy to withdraw as to give.

Pre-ticked boxes, bundled "accept all" consent, and buried purposes don't meet the standard. The Act expects granular, per-purpose consent you can prove.
